This week we’re putting Finlux TVs on Christmas Wish Lists all over Britain, with the introduction of our spokesman ‘Fin Lux’. A native of Finland, he has arrived in the UK in time for the high definition switch over next year.
The lights, the glitter, the dressing up, the elaborate preparations, the sense of anticipation as the main event draws near… So when Fortnum’s went searching for inspiration for their Christmas windows, a theme of ‘Showtime!’ seemed an obvious candidate.
It is now less than five weeks till Christmas and the start of the ‘party’ season. Office parties highlight the idiosyncracies of gender.
Fortnum’s is a theatre and every day they put on a show. This Christmas the aim is to exaggerate and emphasise this with tender quirky detail, humour and irony. Playing on tradition and the seasonal form of entertainment: Pantomime, but mixed with a little dusting of Burlesque magic.
The month October has become famous as ‘Red October’, due to the Bolshevik Revolution which started on 25 October 1917.
